Many thanks to everyone who supported and participated in the Production of the 2007 Allston Village Street Fair - We couldn’t have done it without your Community Spirit, Assistance and Support. From the Entertainment Line-Up to the Clean-Up, Everyone was absolutely incredible and I can’t thank you enough for all of your help.

ABOUT THE STREET FAIR LAST YEAR 2007  On Sunday September 23rd, 2007, Allston will be abuzz! From 12:00 until 6:00PM on Harvard Avenue between Brighton Avenue and Cambridge Street intersections, Neighbors and Visitors will enjoy The Allston Village Street Fair following the annual Brian J. Honan 5K road race and Allston/Brighton parade as part of the twin cities’ Bicentennial Celebration!

Special highlights include Special Guest appearances by Billy Costa from TV Diner, Boston’s Elvis - Roland Julius, and sensational Raffle Drawings for prizes ranging from Restaurant Gift Certificates to Hotel Getaways - sponsored by businesses throughout Massachusetts! Raffle ticket sales will benefit the Franciscans Hospital for Children with Special Needs. Student Advantage will be on site offering chances to win a Free Month of Rent!

Guests can pick up an Old Town Trolley Tours Shuttle Buses starting at 11:30 from the Brighton Mills parking lot (at Shaw’s Market on Western Avenue) or the Brighton Landing High Rise Parking Garage at the corner of Guest and Market Streets in Brighton chauffeuring visitors straight to the festival, where they will experience a wonderful Mardi Gras!

Harvard Ave will come alive with Allston-Brighton Vendors and Restaurants, bountiful Corporate Giveaways (including Dunkin’ Donuts, Red Bull, Wise Chips, BooKoo Energy Drink, New England Dairy Council, Welch’s, Turkey Hill, Hoodsie Cups, and Cabot Cheese just to name a few).

The Children’s Plaza will feature ReadBoston Storymobile, Fun with Sidewalk Sam, Zoo New England, Rami Salami, Jenny the Juggler and Banana, Dot the Clown, Jason Escape, etc. Amusements, including a 40′ High Super Slide, Tiki Rock Wall, Moon Bounce, Arcade Games, Face Painting by Fictional Faces and Temporary Tattoos by Stingray Body Art, and much, much, more!.

The Allston Village Street Fair brings a radiant array of Boston’s finest musicians! The Street Fair’s Main Stage will tribute the late Allston icon Mr. Butch and Showcase Rock and Soul Music scheduled from Three Day Threshold, Velvet Stylus, Delhill, Jo Henley, Cahill, The Grown Up Noise, and Brian Bergeron.Street Performers also include Calvin Chin’s Award-Winning Childrens Lion Dance Troupe, Traditional Chinese Fan Dancers, and Martial Arts Exhibitions, AfroBrazil, Costumed Super Heroes, Balloon Artists, and the Medieval Musician Mynce Pye.

In addition to Musicians and Artisans stationed at Various Shops and Vendor Stands, Clubs, such as, Harper’s Ferry, Common Ground, O’Brien’s, The Wonder Bar, and The Kells of Boston, plan to host Free Live Entertainment all day. Or, Watch Sports Games at the Sports Depot or The Draft on their Wide Screen TVs!

This extravaganza is an All Ages, All Cultures, Urban Mardi Gras and Celebrates the entire Spirit of the Community! Be sure to take in Allston’s unique restaurants and shops while you are in the area! Right in the Neighborhood, you can Travel the Globe! It’s ALL in ALLSTON!!
